Pong
Pong
My first Unity project, a classic Pong clone built from scratch while learning game development with Unity and C#.
About
This is a learning project built step by step: paddle movement, ball physics, collision-based angle control, goal detection, a score system, a win condition, sound effects, and a start screen, all implemented from the ground up.
How to Play
- Left paddle: W / S
- Right paddle: `Up Arrow` / `Down Arrow`
- Before the match starts, choose how many points are needed to win using the `+` / `-` buttons on the start screen.
- First player to reach the target score wins. Hit Restart to play again.
Features
- Two-paddle local multiplayer
- Physics-based ball movement with paddle-angle deflection (where you hit the paddle changes the ball's direction)
- Ball speeds up progressively after a set number of paddle hits
- Live score display (TextMeshPro)
- Configurable win condition, set from an in-game start screen
- Win screen with a restart button
- Sound effects for hits, goals, and winning
Built With
- Unity 6 (2D, Built-in Render Pipeline)
- C#
Status
Work in progress, built as part of a personal transition into game development.
Next up: additional gameplay modes (single player / 2 player selection).
